Shalam and Welcome to DaughtersofSarah!

This is a web page created soley to help other women in the faith. We are called as women of the Most High to love our husbands, teach our children, and be keepers at home, as commanded in Titus 2:4-5 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of Ahayah be not blasphemed. By doing such we will be daughters of Sarah as stated in 1 Peter 3:6 Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement.

What prompted me to start this page:

As a women who is not a "christian" I sometimes found it discouraging when looking for childrens studies to do with my boys, or women devotionals only to have to pick out all the christian dogma and doctrines within. Its not as simple for us Hebrew women to do a quick google search and find a quick study outline to go over with our children, we have to edit and make sure everything is set, and on busy days that can take a toll. So I created this page for women seeking truth- wanting to grow in truth, fufill thier calling as women, wives, and mothers acording to the Most High's word.

Please feel free to share the things you have learned as women seeking Ahayah, lets encourage learn and grow with each other!

The Facade of Freedom/Instant Gratification

What is true freedom? Is freedom really being able to do what we want when we want it? Does this version of freedom just really trap us into a flesh pleasing cycle. Does this type of freedom just cause us to be a slave to our sin.

1 Cor 6:12 You say, “I am allowed to do anything”—but not everything is good for you. And even though “I am allowed to do anything,” I must not become a slave to anything.

John 8:34 Christ replied, “I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave of sin.

Romans 6:12-13 Do not let sin control the way you live;do not give in to sinful desires. Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God.

Romans 6:17 Thank God! Once you were slaves of sin, but now you wholeheartedly obey this teaching we have given you.

We truly do have a choice, chose this day whom you will serve (Joshua 24:15). Each choice takes us down a path, and the choices seem to snowball don't they? You can either snowball to righteousness or snowball to death(sin)

Proverbs 4:23-27

Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

24 Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee.

25 Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.

26 Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.

27 Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.

So what is real freedom? "Freedom not just desires of OUR heart, but a freedom with the understanding of your victory and our mother being purity, REAL freedom. Till the ground in me till it's ready"-Jason Upton

John 8:32 The truth will set you free.

Freedom is knowing where your choices lead, truly understanding.

Is a woman free if she says i can choose what I wear, drink, do, who I sleep with?

Or is she free when she realize if I sleep with this man I will get hurt, I will regret it, I will wish I could take it back. I will hurt my husband current or future. I will be giving my body over to someone who doesn't care.

Is a woman free if she says I can choose, I deserve this time to relax the kids can wait, I deserve skip bible study this morning and sleep in it was a long night, I deserve to go out to eat today I have cooked all week.... We plant things like this yet expect, our bank account and waistline not to be affected by our decision to eat out, we expect our relationships with our kids and God to not be affected by our choice to spend our time elsewhere.

Freedom is realizing the truth.

Once we realize Christ died for me to show me true life, once we get a taste of the true and living water we realize that freedom is in Him.

Everyone has a moment when they realize that no matter how much "fun" they are having there soul is missing something. That something is Christ.

"There's gotta be more to life, that chasing out every temporary high, just to satisfy me." - Michelle Branch

Instant gratification is something I keep noticing everywhere in the world today. Everything is now, now, now. We want to be able to communicate in an instant, we want our grades in an instant, our food in an instant, our online shopping in an instant, e books, instant downloads, etc the list goes on. I also notice it in my life. Food, drinking, choosing to watch movies instead of go to bed, letting the kids stay up late just because they are quiet, letting them play instead of read the bible because it gives me more quiet time ... all these lead to a harvest I don't want.

Yet I choose them why? For instant gratification.  Why do I sell myself short for instant gratification? Galatians 6:7 You always harvest what you plant. If I want to be healthy, to go to the gym, to get up before the house to read/pray, to have the kids up at a certain time, to instill reading the bible first thing THEN I HAVE TO PLANT IT.

Instant gratification traps us in to that snowball effect. Because before we realize that the harvest is not what we expected we have already sown all our seeds.

Take our previous example: She has gotten a thrill from being in that mans arms. So she does it again, and again and again each time the thrill is less and less. Yet she desires that thrill so she keeps going, before we know it she has her harvest, a broken heart, a used body. But wait this isn't the harvest she wanted? She wanted true love, a companion. Too late. You cant plant peas and harvest potatoes.

"Freedom not to be controlled by anything, not just to not be controlled by anything, but to be controlled, by your very will, by the very loving will will of your father, by your very plan, by your very desire" -Jason Upton

God knows what is best for us and real freedom is trusting him to choose your seeds. Freedom is letting God control you, not being in control yourself.  Freedom is TRUTH- seeing that this instant gratification is a lie- because there really is no gratification at all. And once you let go of that lie, then you see that there is more to life than these temporary moments of joy, that there is a God who desires you to experience true joy, lasting joy. Once you turn your will over to Him, and trust him to guide your will, choose your seeds, where to plant them when to plant them, you will see it is not control at all- it is freedom.

An unspoken word, is still a word.

Have you ever forgot to put Christ first?

Isaiah 26:3 You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.

Have you ever seen the slow changes that progress from this lack of Christ? Maybe you have not returned to your vomit, but maybe your thinking has changed. Maybe some of the old lies have crept back into your way of thinking, your marriage? What ever happened to holding every thought captive? Have you found yourself dwelling on things of no eternal value? In fact the mere opposite but things that brew animosity, jealousy, mistrust?

2 Corinthians 10:  Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Maybe you were hurt, and because you were not wrapped in Christ you allowed Satan to use your pain to drag you deeper into a pit of self pity, of thoughts of no worth. Maybe you have not allowed Christ to heal you? Have you not come to the cross and laid your full burden down, knowing that somewhere in your flesh ridden soul you wanted to hold on to the hurt? You now don't know how to let go, because you still haven’t brought it to the cross. Lies fly through your mind as the enemy tries to find a foot hold, a dagger he can stick inside your mind causing you to doubt all you have ever truly known to be true. Why not seek real healing, from the one who has healed you before? We become the same as the liar who fed the lies (Satan) when we start to believe them.

John 8:44 You are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father you will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and stayed not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

Ephesians 6:16 In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one;

See like our bodies which go through either a catabolic(breaking down) state or anabolic(building) state our thoughts also do the same. We are either building up or breaking down, ourselves, our children, our husbands, our homes... with not only our words but our thoughts. See if we don’t hold every thought captive to Christ then they can become to fruition through our actions. For example maybe we believe the lie that we are not good enough or pretty enough and in turn we deny our husbands- this action is fruit of a catabolic thought, and it can easily turn from a thought to an action without Christ. You see unspoken words....are still words, with just as much power.

Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

James 1:15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

Take time today and everyday to dwell on the word and pray not just for others but for yourself, for healing, for help with the big task that we are given as women, mothers, and wives. Allow Christ to dwell in you, wrap yourself in him, immerse yourself in the fullness of his word. Know who you are and that the Most High has chose YOU for the tasks you have. He chose YOU to be the mother of your children, just as your husband chose YOU to be his wife. We are special to them, we have purpose, we have calling. Stop listening to the lies, and start listening to your Father.

-

Philippians 4:8-9 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.  Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

Psalms 19:14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.

Home School

We did it!

-Almost!

My eldest is done with all his 3rd grade work 3 months early. I should feel some relief but since he is enrolled in a charter school he must also take the STAR test to officially pass 3rd grade. So that is what we are working on- slowly.

Broken.

Broken. It’s the word I use the most when people ask me who I am.

Broken.

I’m a mess, really.  Memories linger, but with little time to process them. Laundry abounds. Dinner calls. I’m often short-tempered. I’m often frustrated by things that carry no eternal significance.
